CEO

Christopher Hansen is a senior agriculture, finance and small and medium sized enterprise (SME) expert with more than 25 years of experience, primarily in the US, Latin America and Africa. Mr. Hansen is the founding CEO of Redwood Green Corp., a company focused on the development of high-value brands for the CBD cannabis sector. He was also the founding CEO of PharmaCielo Ltd., a leading producer of medicinal cannabis in Medellín, Colombia. He has led numerous successful initiatives on behalf of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the International Finance Corporation (IFC/World Bank), the GIC Group, and the Swiss Foundation for Sustainable Development in Latin America (FUNDES).

Mr. Hansen’s expertise includes developing dynamic boards and management teams, corporate strategy development and implementation, identifying and negotiating collaborative agreements with market partners with the inclusion of individual farmers and other small local players, working with legislators, politicians and regulatory authorities to facilitate enabling political environments for newly developing industries such as the cannabis market.

He has served on numerous boards including the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), Fondo Activo de Capital de Bolivia, a US$10 million private equity fund, Profund International, a US$23.0 million micro-finance fund focused on Latin America, and others. Mr. Hansen received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California-Berkeley, attended the UC-Berkeley Haas School of Business, and began his studies in pre-law at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.

(Philip) Blair Mullin is managing director of Somerset Associates LLC, a CFO, accounting, tax and financial consulting company, and serves on the board of CanaQuest Medical Corp. He has 30 years’ experience as CFO, COO, and in consulting and turnarounds for businesses with revenues of less than $100 million.

Since 2009, he has operated primarily in consulting and interim CFO roles in multiple sectors including fintech, blockchain, drones, recycling, medical marijuana, and electrical power generation. From 2003-09, Blair was a partner of Tatum Partners, a human capital firm engaged in providing CFO services. Within Tatum, Blair served in numerous leadership roles: from 2006-09, as CFO of Zi Corporation, a leading software development company specializing in mobile phones, which was sold in April 2009 to Nuance Communications; from 2003-06, as interim CFO of Homax Products, Vice President Finance of Yakima Products, and as a consultant in several engagements in industrial construction, manufacturing and air transportation; from 2001-03, as turnaround consultant to companies in the telecom sector during the critical post-9/11 timeframe; from 1995-2001, he was engaged in various C-level capacities in a public entity that was restructured and eventually became International DisplayWorks, a manufacturer of LCD displays based in Rocklin, California with operations in Shenzhen, China, which was later sold to Flextronics.

Mr. Mullin began his career in banking in 1982 after completing his MBA from University of Western Ontario Richard Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario, Canada and BA in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.  He currently resides in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

Joseph P. Galda is an experienced securities attorney with an entrepreneurial approach. He has a large cross-border practice and over the course of his career has had clients in 19 countries. Currently, he is the most active OTC Markets sponsor having sponsored 68 companies in 2018.

Mr. Galda opened his private practice, JPGalda & Co., in Ardmore, Pennsylvania in 2013. He was previously counsel with Fox Rothschild LLP as a Member of the Technology and Venture Finance Group based in the firm’s Exton office.  As president and founder of Corsair Advisors, Inc. he offered venture capital and corporate advisory services from 2004 through 2011. He was a partner with Hodgson Russ LLP from 2000 to 2004, based in Toronto, where he headed the firm’s cross-border securities practice and from 1996 to 2000 was with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC where he was a Member of the Corporate Finance Department and Technology and Corporate Control Practice Groups, with additional focus in cross-border transactions. Mr. Galda began his legal career with Drinker Biddle and Reath (1986-1990) and with Clark Ladner Fortenbaugh & Young (1990-1996).

Joe received his JD from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden after earning a BA in Economics from Rutgers – Camden.

Dr. Delon Human, M.B.Ch.B., M.Prax.Med, MFGP, DCH, MBA is a recognized global health leader, published author,  lecturer and healthcare consultant specializing in global health strategy, corporate and product transformation, harm reduction, access to healthcare and health communication. He is currently Global Head of Health and Innovation for PharmaCielo Ltd. and its Medical and Scientific Advisory Board chair and served on the board of directors from 2016 to May 2019. He is also president of Health Diplomats, a specialized health, nutrition and wellness consulting group operating worldwide with clients including Fortune 500 companies, foundations, governments and NGOs such as the World Medical Association, World Dental Federation and the International Food and Beverage Alliance (IFBA).

He has acted as adviser to the WHO Director-General and to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon. Until 2014, he served as Secretary-General and Special Envoy to WHO / UN of the International Food and Beverage Alliance, a group of leading food and non-alcoholic beverage companies with a global presence. For eight years, Dr. Human was secretary general of the World Medical Association (WMA) where he worked closely with the American Medical Association, WHO and FDA leadership involved in research ethics. He was instrumental in the establishment of the World Health Professions Alliance. In 2006 he was elected Secretary-General of the Africa Medical Association (AfMA). He is a fellow of the Russian and Romanian Academies of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Human was a clinician for two decades, part of the pediatric endocrinology research unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital and was involved in the establishment of several medical centers, a hospital and an emergency clinic in South Africa. Concurrently, he established a healthcare insurance company, Human Health Care, which provided strategic planning, medical audits and consumer care services to around 250,000 insured clients of several health funds. Dr. Human qualified as a physician in South Africa and completed his postgraduate studies in family medicine and child health in South Africa and Oxford, England. His business studies (MBA) were completed at the Edinburgh Business School.

Faun Chapin is the CEO and co-founder of Sonder, a high-end cannabis company founded in 2017 with her family of second-generation cannabis farmers, as well as the CEO and co-founder of Guts & Glory, an award-winning design and branding firm founded in 2010. Previously, she served as Head of Creative Development at leading innovation consultancy Fahrenheit 212. Her uniquely combined talents are indicative of a design methodology rooted in innovation, cultural strategy and branding.

Previously, Ms. Chapin built and led the Branding & Design department at Amalgamated, a NYC boutique advertising agency. She has experience building and leading creative teams at innovation, advertising and branding firms with client rosters that include Nestle, Unilever, P&G, Coca-Cola, GE, American Express, Pepsi, IMAX, Samsung, Citi Bank, Charles Schwab, TNT Networks, Svedka, Patron, Vitamin Water, Ben & Jerry’s and numerous smaller fashion, food, alcohol and service brands. Her work ranges from beverage innovation to retail interior design to innovative financial services, and she’s rebranded multiple major national and international companies. A celebrated talent, she’s acquired such accolades as a Cannes Lion and an Obie award, and her work has been featured in The New York Times and New York Magazine. Prior to joining Amalgamated, Ms. Chapin was Design Director of the influential fashion and culture magazine Index. In the course of her career, she’s worked with the most celebrated fashion photographers and creative directed and wrote TV spots with Ellen DeGeneres.

Ms. Chapin has a Master’s in Design from Yale and has taught both there and at the California College of Art in Oakland where she received her BFA. Her work has been shown in New York, Berlin, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Some of her work now resides in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. In her spare time, she designs art books, six of which have been published. A skydiving bibliophile native to the Northern California coast, she is also a certified private detective.

Mario Gobbo has 35 years of banking and corporate finance experience in healthcare and energy. His expertise encompasses venture capital and private equity as well as investment banking and strategic advisory services. He is on the board of Zavarovalnica Triglav, the largest Slovene insurance company spearheading healthcare insurance in Central Europe and was Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee of Helix BioPharma, a Toronto-listed biotech company developing interesting novel complex biomolecules to combat various cancers.  As an executive director, he was also on the board of Lazard Brothers, London.

Mario participated in a study of the Malaysian medical devices industry, authoring a paper on the subject as part of a World Bank project. While Managing Director for Health Care Capital Markets and Advisory with Natixis Bleichroeder in New York, from 2006 to 2009, he secured transactions for the bank’s M&A and equity capital markets pharmaceuticals and life sciences group. He obtained mandates for several IPOs and follow-on transactions on NASDAQ, as well as advisory assignments for health care and medical devices companies. When with the International Finance Corporation, a World Bank Group institution dealing with private sector investments, the team he led completed several highly successful equity and loan investments in biotech and generic pharmaceutical companies and funds in India, Latin America, China and Central Europe. From 1993 to 2001, he was with Lazard in London, where he created and managed their Central and Eastern European operations, including Turkey. Mr. Gobbo advised on M&A, fundraising and privatization efforts for several key firms in the region, including transactions for the pharmaceutical companies Pliva, Bosnalijek, Lek and Krka and investments in the APDC Biotech fund, now renamed VentureEast, one of the first Indian life sciences funds, and BVCF, a highly successful and innovative healthcare fund in China.  Prior to Lazard, he worked with Swiss Bank Corporation International Ltd. in London, where he worked on the IPO of Ares Serono, the Swiss biotech company, subsequently sold to Merck KgaA.  He was also on the investment committee of AHF, an India focused health care fund, Ocimum Biosolutions/Genelogic, an Indian contract research organization, and CellPraxis, a US/Brazilian stem cell research, privately owned firm.

Mario Gobbo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organic Chemistry from Harvard College, a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado and an MBA, a Master of Business Economics and a PhD (Management) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

John Knapp

A pioneer in the legal cannabis industry, John Knapp is the founder of Colorado-based Good Meds and Bosm Labs, both award-winning medicinal-grade cannabis businesses. Mr. Knapp was also an advisor to PharmaCielo Ltd., a Colombia-based, internationally focused medicinal-grade cannabis extraction company. Mr. Knapp founded Good Meds in October 2009, in which he continues to be involved and where he has proven that smart design can support higher yields from a smaller facility. Featured on the television news magazine “60 Minutes,” under Mr. Knapp’s direction the company evolved from a single-caregiver/wholesale operation to a thriving business. Good Meds currently operates two dispensaries and a 90,000-square-foot cultivation facility in the Denver, Colorado cannabis market. In 2014 Good Meds’s cultivated Pure Power Plant was awarded first place in the best medical hybrid category at the Denver High Times Cannabis Cup.

As a consultant to PharmaCielo Ltd., a cultivator and processor of cannabis into medicinal-grade extracts for export worldwide, Mr. Knapp assisted in the design of a state-of-the-art oil processing and cGMP facility that will be one of the largest cultivation and extraction projects in the world when completed. Mr. Knapp is also the founder of Colorado-based GMC & Associates, a cannabis consulting firm, and Gro|Quip, a gardening equipment distributor. An entrepreneur and expert in cannabis business, supply chain management and logistics, Mr. Knapp was previously the Senior Marijuana Design Engineer for Quantum 9 Consulting. He has consulted on over two-dozen cannabis projects globally.

A trained engineer, Mr. Knapp worked at Mansfield Oil Company as a fuel logistics analyst after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Western Michigan University where his research paper, “Analysis of Forecasted Capacity Utilization Through a Simulated Environment of an Outpatient Pharmacy,” was awarded first place at the Institute of Industrial Engineers Annual Regional Conference.

Mark Radke

Mark Radke is a lawyer with a distinguished career in the area of financial services, specializing in federal securities regulation. As the Chief of Staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission under Chairman Harvey Pitt, he was responsible for that agency’s rulemaking in response to the Sarbanes Oxley Act. In private practice, as partner at several multinational law firms, he has represented corporations, brokerage and accounting firms, hedge funds and individuals on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues involving not only the SEC but other federal and state regulators.

He was active in advising clients on legislative initiatives that lead to the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010, and in subsequent efforts to extend, implement or amend various components of that and other federal securities legislation.

Based in the Washington, D.C. area, Mr. Radke has advised political action committees and other entities in past election cycles. As an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, he has taught classes in aspects of securities regulation since 1999. He holds a B.A., University of Washington, J.D., University of Baltimore, Securities, Georgetown.

John Scharffenberger

John Scharffenberger is a consultant to the farming and food production industry, offering a wide range of programs and services including agronomic analysis, product development, management and marketing to help both for-profit and non-profit producers sustainably increase returns. His clients have included Hodo Soy, Farmhouse Culture, Tout Sweets Patisserie, Front Porch Farms, Kaia Foods and Daylesford Organics among others. Prior to establishing his consultancy, he developed companies that combined agronomic innovation, sustainable production technologies and international brand development in the wine, chocolate and forestry industries, including Scharffenberger Cellars and the first artisanal chocolate company in the U.S., Scharffen Berger Chocolate Maker.

An avid gardener and amateur forester, he devotes substantial time to learning about food production processes on his 350-acre ranch in Mendocino County. He believes that a comprehensive study of cultural, historic and environmental contexts is the proper basis to achieve sustainable and successful food production.

Mr. Scharffenberger received a BA in Agricultural Geography from University of California, Berkeley in 1973. He served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at London Business School in 2007 and has recently spoken at UC Berkeley commencement ceremonies, Brown University, and various symposia relating to small food production. Mr. Scharffenberger serves as trustee on the UC Berkeley College of Natural Resources advisory board, as a board member of Save the Redwoods League and is an emeritus advisory board member of the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens.

Stephen Schroeder has been active in the Cannabis sector for over three decades. Starting his career with a goal of perfecting the complex matrix for environmental controls necessary to eliminate the need for pesticides and fungicides during the production of cannabis products, the control of these conditions enables him to produce highest-quality whole plant medicines and extractions.

Over the last decade, Stephen has been fully immersed in the seed to sale of the cannabis plant as an industry consultant. He has worked with cannabis plant genetics and is able to select the best cannabis strains to help companies develop unique strains capable of producing the active ingredients needed to build a highly effective medicinal product line to address human and animal health and wellness, drawing from full spectrum of therapeutic benefits cannabis has to offer.

Stephen has overseen millions of square feet of cannabis cultivation worldwide and has consulted on cannabis operations throughout the United States, in South America and in several European Union countries, thus helping thousands of patients. Stephen’s approach to cannabis horticulture emphasizes purity and precise control of all parameters of the growth cycle, designing and utilizing techniques to preserve the whole plant medicine.

The knowledge and contacts Stephen has developed allow him to help companies navigate through the developing industry, enabling them to avoid industry pitfalls and steer toward their goals.

Caroline Lenardon

Caroline Lenardon has been involved in the financial industry for over 35 years, with a focus on working with venture capital companies and trading U.S. over-the-counter (OTC), NASDAQ and Canadian exchanges.

Starting as an Investment Advisor for a boutique investment firm in Vancouver, Canada, Caroline retired from the brokerage firm community in 2011. In addition to her advisory duties, she also held positions as a head trader for both equity and options markets and as a retail supervisor. She managed these roles while overseeing a client portfolio book in excess of CDN $50 million.

Since 2011, she has been working with various companies in the role of shareholder relations.  Before working with First Colombia, she was Director of Investor Services for PharmaCielo Ltd. since the company’s inception. PharmaCielo trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange Venture board and has a market capitalization of CDN $576,000,000.

In addition to her financial designations, Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and economics from the University of British Columbia.

Janice Matthews has provided communications and publishing assistance to individuals and businesses since 1984, from individuals, academics and nonprofits, to small service agencies and startups, to large multinational corporations. She assists with diverse communication needs, including digital and print publications, presentation and marketing materials, internal communications, website development and review, and consulting on special projects, as well as research, writing, editing, and fact-checking.

Janice minored in English while completing a BA in Psychology at the University of Kansas and completed graduate work and an internship at the KU School of Social Welfare in Kansas City. She now resides in a small, rural community on Florida’s southeastern Treasure Coast.
