Steve Hilton has held senior leadership positions in both the public and private sector where he has advised a President of the United States, U.S. senators, Army general officers, Fortune 500 CEOs, and leaders of foreign governments. His ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives, galvanize the support of stakeholders at the highest levels, and implement critical paradigm shifts to achieve positive short- and long-term results are core strengths.
Mr. Hilton is principal with Hilton Advisors, LLC, a public affairs and management consultancy where he has been an advisor to a national NGO, a leading full-scope global security company, socially responsible tech startups on all aspects of structuring and developing the business, and a global Fortune 50 IT and AI tech leader on public affairs and policy. He was managing director of global public strategy firm Mercury Public Affairs where he led large, cross-functional teams engaged to resolve complex public affairs issues for domestic and international clients. Prior to those positions, he served as head of Global Government and Public Affairs at McDonald’s Corporation. Mr. Hilton, an attorney, was also a shareholder with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and counsel at the Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld law firms. At both firms, he led or was a senior lawyer resolving government relations, food and drug, international law, congressional investigations and other matters for domestic and international clients.
Mr. Hilton has held numerous positions with the federal government. As Deputy Assistant to the President, Deputy Director, Office of Public Liaison, The White House, he conducted policy and political outreach and consultation to key constituencies in support of the president’s legislative, domestic and foreign policy objectives and directed the Office of Public Liaison. He was Minority Chief Counsel and Staff Director, United States Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on the Constitution where he advised the Ranking Member of the Constitution Subcommittee on the full range of legal and committee issues and directed the subcommittee staff. He was also senior legislative assistant to a U.S. senator, providing legal counsel and policy advice. Mr. Hilton’s additional public service was as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, and as a Commissioner on the American Battle Monuments Commission, responsible for U.S. military monuments and cemeteries worldwide, including the design and construction of the Korean and World War II monuments on the National Mall.
Steve Hilton is admitted to the bar to practice law in Washington, D.C. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and B.A. from Princeton University. He also is a graduate of the Army’s Command & General Staff College. Mr. Hilton is a member of the board of advisors for Milspec Capital and Blue Star Families and was formerly a board member of the National Restaurant Association, the Goodman Theater, the U.S. Council for International Business, the board of advisors of the Salvation Army (Greater Washington, D.C.) and is a founding board member of Blue Star Families.
